The artistic mind is emblematic of problem solving in action: constant observation, reflection and imagination, always with the intention of producing something novel. The hallmarks of curiosity and persistence which are necessary to produce innovation in any domain are embodied by the professional artist. In fact, these qualities are at the core of every individual’s creative spirit.
The Creative Practice workshops are unlike traditional art classes. Although every workshop is rooted in artmaking processes, the focus of a TCP workshop is not technical art skills. Instead the focus is upon creative thinking…everyday creativity…and the skills that each of us can rely upon to reach creative outcomes that are relevant to our everyday lives.
Understanding, and practicing, the processes which make creative outcomes more likely takes work! But this work is fun and inspiring and fulfilling. So, yes, creativity does take work, but the rewards are abundant…
